L.O.V.E.

Just a poem I wrote after a nasty break up.

L is for the loyalty you thought he promised you.
O is for the openness you'd mistaken for the truth.
V is for the very words he now says to someone else.
E is for the every lie that you now tell yourself.

But forget about his "loyalty";
I guess men aren't really dogs.
Forget about his openness;
I guess the truth was just too hard.
Forget about the other girl;
She's not some gift from up above.
And forget about the lies you say;
It's just yourself you have to love.
