Feelings

Feelings

A Poem by Jade Mayhew

She sees red.
Her fists clench,
Her lips quiver,
Her stomach tightens,
Her voice shakes,
And she's angry.

She sees black.
Her spine tingles,
Her hands tremble,
Her knees weaken,
Her eyes shut,
And she's scared.

She sees blue.
Her tears fall,
Her heart aches,
Her words plead,
Her arms search,
And she's sad.

She sees pink.
Her eyes dance,
Her heart pounds,
Her hands rest,
Her voice is confident,
And she's in love.

She sees red,
And she finds relief.
She sees black,
And she finds hope.
She sees blue,
And she finds happiness.
She sees pink,
And she's found elation.
And she feels.

The organization of this poem is very well thought out. The colors corresponding with each respective stanza or word places emphasis on those emotions. The colors combined with the concrete descriptions allow the readers not just to read your poem, but to feel it. Well done.
