Room Enough for Three

Room Enough for Three

A Poem by Jamie Hawkins
"

A piece written for my 8 year old son, a twin, who is going through an u settled time recently as my partner and I are expecting another child

"
Please do not fret
When you lie awake at night
Please do not despair
When you search in darkness for the light
Please remember this
And I promise you will see
That in this beating heart of mine
There’s room enough for three

Two had filled it up so full
At times so it could burst
Such happiness could explode it so
Yet break it easily at its worst
But now another is on their way
To join our family
Whether brother or a sister born
There’s room enough for three

Please don’t worry of things to come
Nor things that have been and gone
No matter how near or far we are
For all of you this heart beats on
They’ll love you just as I do
And you’ll love them too, you’ll see
Please remember and never forget
There’s room enough for three

This heart of mine will hold you all
And forever will it grow
Too be broken, fixed, and love so much
So much you will never know
Until it beats its final time
It holds you all close to me
I’ll always be there, with you in my heart
If there’s room inside yours for me
