Northern Stars

A poem I wrote for someone who from heaven is looking down on me

Days will come, time will flow,

One after the other they follow,

Every seasons born anew,

Is pulling us away from you

 

I climbed up a mountain,

Travelled across the land,

Try and reduce the pain,

So that it won’t expand

 

All part of a grander plan,

That might be comin’ true,

Now that I finally understand,

We are not far from you

 

I started on a broken road,

I had tears, I had clouds,

But light eventually glowed,

And chased away the doubts,

Now I can feel the sun,

Knowing you’re in Heaven

 

When I close my eyes,

I can still hear our cries,

But now that I know,

It’s not all about shadow

 

When I look at the sky,

I see it clear as day,

Like a bird you fly,

But won’t ever go away,

 

I can see you’re alright,

So never mind the battle scars,

You’ll shine long and bright,

Among the Northern Stars …
