Chivalry

A Poem by Jarrai

A poem made for the Medieval period i believe...

"

Chivalry

To confess thy love,

Thou must walk through the scorching gardens

Led by infinity,

Forever trailed by oblivion.

To confess thy hatred,

Thou must burn through oblivion,

Wielding the blazing sword of Hades

To enter the palace of shadow,

To face thy fears,

Thou must brave the blind sanctuary

Hidden upon the floating isle,

Where the wretched martyrs endure.

To face thy pleasures,

Thou must forever endure,

The drowning of curves, the passion of night,

And foolish dreams wishing to take flight.

To conquer thyself,

Thou must allow love alone to take flight,

Quelling the wrath of hatred alight,

While ensuring fear is left bereft.

To conquer the world,

Thou must forget not his brothers,

For saving human benevolence,

Is to conquer all bedevilment.

This is great, no part is clunky - it reads so smooth and rhythmic.

Ok this was a really good read! love the old english. sadly not many do. "To confess thy hatred, Thou must burn through oblivion, Wielding the blazing sword of Hades, To enter the palace of shadow," this to me was the best stanza of the lot. beautifully written!!
