unwritten letter

unwritten letter

A Poem by Jazmyne
"

its about things that you wish you could tell pple or write not knowing if you get a response back.

"

Have you ever wanted to write a letter to someone you need?

To tell them how you feel for them, so words of love they'll read.
To tell them that you cannot hide what they make you feel inside.
To let them know you think of them all through the day.
You hope that they'll write back to you feeling the same way.

Have you ever written a letter to break up with someone?
To let them know you don't love them now; you think it's time you're done.
To tell them you still care for them, but you want to be just friends.
To tell them you're sorry, but there will never be an "again".
To get things off your chest, and tell them what they lack.
You write a three page letter that says, "please do not write back".

Have you ever wanted to write a letter just to reminisce?
To think of all the good times, and remember what you miss.
To tell them you hold their memories so dear.
To tell them you haven't forgotten and you wish that they were near.
To bring up all the things you did together,
and to ask them to write you back, whenever.

Have you ever written a letter to share your last regret?
To say, "sorry" for acting foolish, because you haven't apologized yet.
To tell them how you feel so bad, about how you let them down.
To tell them you know it's because of you they aren't around.
To tell them you understand why they feel the way they do,
knowing that they'll never write a letter back to you.

Have you ever written a letter never to be mailed?
Only to make yourself feel better knowing that you've failed.
Well if you write those letters, and never send them away...
how do you expect the one you love to read what you have to say

Good topic to write about. I wrote a letter to someone telling them how they had hurt me, and changed my life with the actions they took or didn't take. Never intended to mail the letter, then one day I did. As soon as I had dropped it in the box I panicked. But things worked out........was tense for a while but it worked out in the end, and now this person knows how I feel. Great write

Very nicely done. What touched me about this poem is the letters we write but never send... really makes you think. Thank you for sharing. Debileah

Yes, I have...this poem reminds me of so many old memories, which is a good ability for a writer to have. Good job!

You said it perfect here. I know i would love to write a letter to someone I miss dearly, but afraid of rejection, too. I think about all these things of what you wrote. This was very brilliant, and from deep within you. Very beautifully composed :)

Jaz-There is something about this writing that touches the heart with the idea of what it means to
miss someone close to the heart and be able to project the meaning in such a way that it reveals
deepest feelings- i think its a classic depiction of love and have lost..the unwritten letter..
I'm sure many people can relate to the course of action in one way or another..i found the writing to be
beautifully written and punctuated with specific rhyme form that conceptualizes the meaning
I really liked the way this stanza stood out to me..in my own personal life

What an emotional journey you weave with your intriguing questions and hypnotic words... in this life we only get one chance, I myself have had these regrets to as we fail to tell those in our lives things we have always wanted to say but couldn't for pride or fear... this piece really touches me as I can relate with my broken heart.

I once wrote a letter to a friend of mine who was killed in a car accident. I never got a chance to tell her how I felt, and I was afraid that if I kept the feelings inside, I would drive myself insane. So I wrote a letter. It's about eight pages long. I keep it in a safe.

Anyway, enough of my pity-fest this was a good poem. It really makes you think
