I catch a star and hold its fire,
ablaze like a heart with brilliant desire.
I watch it sparkle and dance so wild,
and hear a tinkling, the laugh of a child.
Oh star, please light a soul tonight,
and the evening sky will shine eternal, bright:
A burning glow crackles through my blood and veins,
consuming; and my spirit stirs from where it’s lain.
Awake, the waving trees do cry,
Awake, and with a leap to the heavens I fly,
winged with gossamer threads so very fine,
spun from clouds and dreams, they glisten and shine.
Wheeling and soaring into the light,
alongside dragons, blinded, by glory and might,
I feel a rush: fresh wind against bare skin.
Exhilarate; and with a smile, I raise my chin.
