Love Like Glass

Love Like Glass

A Poem by Jonathan Brooks
"

The delicacy of a relationship

"

Shaped into life by our own hands

Was a love so pure and stainless:

A love that reflected our hearts and minds,

So sweet, yet still not painless.

Our hearts were mirror images,

And we melted every time we met.

In one soul we did combine:

Into a charming and delicate set.

If it was transparent, then I was blind,

To see how it all fell apart.

I did not know that it was so easy

To break such a beautiful heart.

All it took were a few little cracks

To bring us crashing down.

With a love like glass, it’s easy to shatter

When pieces fall to the ground.

Broken and busted we live on still,

Without our full-fledged reflection.

If only I knew that this love would cause

A life full of endless dejection.

A biography? Are you kidding me? I don't want to tell people that I am twenty. I don't wish to share that I enjoy writing. I don't want to talk about my involvement in creative writing classes. I don'.. more..
