FOREVER LOVE

FOREVER LOVE

A Poem by jeannemarie coulter
"

the forever love of parents, grandparents...couples who love into infinity

"

FOREVER LOVE
see love twinkling
from smile to smile, eye to eye
unspoken,
ancient,
yet new born
like fresh spring blossoms,
eternally reborn,
renewed...
shared again with each touch,
each passing caress,
as mom and dad
do their daily routine,
finish each chore,
each individual pleasure,
alone or together
through the peaceful passing day,
to climb the stairs,
slip into bed
beneath the hand made quilt
(great grandmother’s wedding gift)
where they drift into sleep,
spooncuddling
until the day begins again
the eternal slow dance of LOVE...

Love is a very beautiful dance, from the moment you fall in love your life changes forever. And you know that no matter what comes your way you will be able to get through it as long as you have them at your side. It is a beautiful timeless thing. Great work :)

jeannemarie, I've always thought that the sight of an elderly couple walking together and still holding hands is one of the most romantic sights I am blessed to witness. My wife and I are each around 60 and we ALWAYS hold hands when we're out in public, to show younger couples what a long-lasting love looks like. This piece is SO beautiful, one of the best of yours that I've read...it got me a bit misty-eyed reading it. Thank you for THAT! take care...dan

thank you dear friend...hope to see you holding hands forever
What a sweet poem... love is about sharing the fun and responsibilities and showing affections to know the other is appreciated.

I love this and the picture that you chose to go with it. When I see an older couple holding hands, it always makes me smile. I tell Otto that, God willing, I want that to be us in another 30 years. He laughs and tells me he'd settle for another 20.
New love is wonderful, but I think a mature love has much more to commend it, and you have outlined that beautifully in this poem. Love is renewed in the small moments of life, on a daily basis.

This is exactly what I envisioned when I married,
unfortunately this was only a vision in my eyes:(

Hmm.. I would suggest that you lessen the use of love? Because we already know that it's a love poem and the images are already perfect and it feels quiet and I could already hear the floorboards creaking and the smell of the kitchen in the morning. Hmm.. Your description says "couples who love into infinity" so maybe use that for the final line? Like, "the eternal slow dance into infinity".

It's only a suggestion though. ^_^ Man, reading about quiet loves that last forever on a rainy Thursday morning is perfection. Thank you for your wonderful writing, I'm always looking forward to it. :)

real love will last past centuries....no stopping it now....love the "spooncuddling"
