Smitten

Smitten

A Poem by Norma J. Jessee
"

The first time I held my little puppy.

"

The first time I saw you,

I knew I was smit,

You shook me to pieces,

I near had a fit.

Now that I've found you,

You've got to be mine,

Mountains of gold,

Can't compare with this find.

You tear me to pieces,

When I look in your eyes.

Deep down inside;

I can feel butterflies.

Momma dog loving,

Her cute little pup.

I'm telling you, cutie,

You're tearing me up.

I'll have to thank Jen for sending this along....this is such a happy poem....there aren't many things in the world cuter than puppies! I love this....great job, it flowed so well and I love this part:

"The first time I saw you,
I knew I was smit,
You shook me to pieces,
I near had a fit."

Funny how love hits so deep and true at the most wonderful times. This is an adorable little poem telling of the instant love is born.

A beautiful read that keeps a smile of my face - long after I first read it

Among my faves - and thank you for posting this little gem

Adorable, delightful, as the well crafted form accentuates your thoughts lovingly,
caring, portrait expression, the flow has a gentle effect all its own, as your words
bring a smile to the readers mind, tender hearted poetry, beautifully done, mike

I think this has a delightful childlike simplicity that really suits the subject. The short lines and mostly single syllable words work so well. And can I just add 'aaahhh. Sweet. Love that expression'.

Ah! for the love of our animals, they will always need us to care for them, and sometimes I wonder who needs the other more. LOl Jessie this is so very nice sweet. Thanks, sorry it took forever to get to reading this.
