ONCE IN A WHILE

ONCE IN A WHILE

A Poem by Jeff Bresee
"

Love ends, break up

"

It’s hard to find

From time to time

The strength to read between the lines

Of all the things you say

And what you do

It’s hard to be

What you want from me

It’s hard to swing from the highest tree

But I am climbing up the branches

Just for you

You never let me go, but never let me stay

My heart’s a wreck from the games you play

I'm torn apart by the things you hide

First I lost my way and then I lost my pride…

So look at me

And perhaps you’ll see

I’ve givin everything and still it isn’t me

Who brightens up your day

Or makes you smile

So I’ll walk away

It’s what I have to do

And when I’m gone, all I ask of you

Is try to think of me…

Once in a while

Oh my friend ..but thats exactly how women are..thats why they are
so different ,in a very sweet way ..you will never understand them no mater
how you looked deep into their selves..women are such a sweet mystery
thats why all the lovely strange stories that were written about them all over the ages
you will try to read between the lines but even that does not apply here
for the words and the lines are all blurred and hazy you could never see the real thing behind it
she will make you climb not only trees and mountains..she will make you do stunning things
you never thought one day you could do..she will never let you go or ever stay
you will just be puzzled what does she really wants..but you will never know
you will lose your way ,and your pride ,but you will do all that so willingly
thats the beauty of women ..in that you never did and never will really understand them
lovely write..

I'm sorry I'm so behind in my reading, but I'm glad I'm reading you today. This is great. Climbing branches, bending, folding, changing for someone, and yet, in the end, you just have to stop and walk away, and hope that you haven't forced yourself to mold too much. Excellent.

thanks for asking me to read
it was a poem that typically will happen to all of us one time or another..... so true!

Its a bit saddening how women can be isn't it or anyone who acts the same way I should say since I seen the opposite gender do the same.
In any case it is a beautiful piece, the reader can relate completely.

I certainly understand these emotions. Up until the end, if you ask her to remember you, you aren't really walking away. You're still holding out that last pathetic strand of hope. That strand will be a rope that she will use to toy with you. Cut the rope man!

This was again such a narrative poetry in flawless rhyme, I so enjoy it.. great lines: It’s hard to find

From time to time

The strength to read between the lines----and the right beginning. When the poem wouldn't be captivating when I start reading, I don't like to read to the end.. great poetry.

It was very beautifully sad. I liked it, specially the closing lines. They were very thought provocative and beautifully written.
Great work here.
