Rise and Fall

Rise and Fall

A Poem by Nyanachi

Several spaces ago I was there
underneath sun and smiles
wrapped in layers of color
warmed like the summer concrete
sleeping in light blue cream
watching the flickering fire with rosy eyes
and guiding it closer
'till it touched my air and burned though me
burned in moments like waves
rising then retreating
cloaking all in blurred vibrance
then fading and fading to the gray haze
still, quiet, clear without a change
it stepped in place over and over
waiting for a push

I like it! The fire seems like a good thing, but it literally results in burnout, like those unsustainable bursts of creativity that leave you spent and useless for a week. Very cool.

thank you very much
I enjoy how you describe the mundane of life; getting stuck in a rut as often times we unexpectedly do.
