Tower Lady

Tower Lady

A Poem by Jem Sagcal

Tower Lady

Miscellaneous past of long,
Haunts a maiden's broken song,
Lonely strings of melancholy,
Broken keys of melody.

Left alone to spaces dark,
Voice unheard in places far,
Whisper she to creatures, small,
Company, than none at all.

Witch's curse at beauty's birth,
Painful sorrow in Mother's words,
Hatred fire in Father's hands,
Hope blinks for tragedy's ends.

Sand pours by passing days,
Lady's wish of radiant rays,
Faith to taste freedom's air
Then she hears,
"Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair"

This left me awe-struck! Rapunzel’s narrative reiterated in such a beautiful way :-)
