Just Another Story - Poetic Version

Just Another Story - Poetic Version

The same Patsy Cline songs put into a poem instead of a story

Poetic version of JUST ANOTHER STORY.

I was WALKIN AFTER MIDNIGHT,

IN THE MISTY GARDEN,

when

HE CALLED ME BABY

. DEAR GOD

IMAGINE THAT!

WHO CAN I COUNT ON?

HOW CAN I FACE TOMORROW?

SHE’S GOT YOU

but doesn’t care

HALF AS MUCH

as I do.

This is

SO WRONG!

I can’t help it.

YOU BELONG TO ME.

Now,

I’M WALKIN’ THE DOG

on LONELY STREET

because

I’VE LOVED AND LOST AGAIN,

and I’M MOVIN’ ALONG,

IN CARE OF THE BLUES

just writing

LETTERS IN THE SAND.

YOU MADE ME LOVE YOU

but now

NEVER NO MORE

will I be SIDE BY SIDE

with you MY MAN,

in the MISTY MOONLIGHT.

I know YOU’RE STRONGER THAN ME

but AM I THAT EASY TO FORGET?

I LOVE YOU HONEY and now I’M BLUE AGAIN

because THERE HE GOES,

BACK IN BABY’S ARMS

leaving me with a FADED LOVE

and SWEET DREAMS OF YOU,

while THE WAYWARD WIND sings LOVE SICK BLUES.

Please

DON’T EVER LEAVE ME AGAIN

while you go FOOLIN’ AROUND,

DOWN BY THE RIVERSIDE

with the GIRL MOST LIKELY

to be GOOD ENOUGH TO BE YOUR WIFE.

I CAN’T FORGET

that I am your TRUE LOVE

and it is STRANGE

because I AM HUNGRY FOR LOVE

and I LOVE YOU SO MUCH IT HURTS ME.

You were just

A STRANGER IN MY ARMS

but you gave me

A POOR MAN’S ROSES under the BLUE MOON OF KENTUCKY.

You said

COME ON IN, COUNTRY GIRL,

EVERYBODY WANTS TO GO TO HEAVEN

and this is not LOVIN’ IN VAIN.

It’s time to

TELL THE TRUTH AND SHAME THE DEVIL,

THEN YOU’LL KNOW,

THAT WONDERFUL SOMEONE,

THE MAN UPSTAIRS

on THE OLD RUGGED CROSS.

IT WASN’T GOD WHO MADE HONKY TONK ANGELS

way down SOUTH OF THE BORDER

so CRY NOT FOR ME

because I’m heading

to the BACK SIDE OF DALLAS in a BLIZZARD,

where my CRAZY DREAMS

cry out DOES YOUR HEART BEAT FOR ME?

I know it’s CRAZY

but WHEN I GET THROUGH WITH YOU,

THE HEART YOU BREAK MAY BE YOUR OWN,

and you’ll be

HIDIN’ OUT with the HARPER VALLEY P.T.A.

You called me your

SAN ANTONIO ROSE

Said

I GOT A LOTTA RHYTHM IN MY SOUL.

Then

you took me on a HONKY TONK MERRY GO ROUND

and asked HAVE YOU EVER BEEN LONELY

as we listened to DISTANT DRUMS, IN THE GARDEN

and cried aloud LOVE ME, LOVE ME HONEY DO.

I didn’t know that

YOU WERE ONLY FOOLIN’

and that YOUR KINDA LOVE,

YOUR CHEATING HEART

would only bring me

HEARTACHES for SEVEN LONELY DAYS.

I never thought

you had LEAVIN’ ON YOUR MIND

that loving me was

DUTY, NOT DESIRE.

You were my

WALKIN’ DREAM

so BILL BAILEY, WON’T YOU PLEASE COME HOME,

I’M MISSING YOU

can we please

just TRY AGAIN.

STUPID CUPID,

I CAN SEE AN ANGEL

so will you STOP, LOOK AND LISTEN

‘cause they are playing SHAKE, RATTLE AND ROLL

when I long to be

in his CRAZY ARMS for THE TENNESSEE WALTZ.

THAT’S MY DESIRE!

IF I COULD HEAR MY MOTHER PRAY AGAIN

there maybe

PEACE IN THE VALLEY

so that

SOMEDAY we may not have to STOP THE WORLD

just to see HOW GREAT THOU ART

and take

JUST A CLOSER WALK WITH THEE, IN THE SWEET BY AND BY..

I KNOW WHY

you TURN THE CARDS SLOWLY

and why

WHEN YOUR HOUSE IS NOT A HOME

and is put up FOR RENT

there are TOO MANY SECRETS

and YES, I UNDERSTAND the TRA LE LA LE LA TRIANGLE

because

WHEN THEY RING THOSE GOLDEN BELLS,

THAT’S HOW A HEARTBREAK BEGINS.

THERE NEVER WAS A TIME

when I was on LIFE’S RAILWAY TO HEAVEN

in HEARTBREAK U.S.A

that I couldn’t feel FINGERTIPS

and wonder WHY CAN’T HE BE YOU.

You were

ALWAYS,

JUST OUT OF REACH

but now I’D RATHER HAVE JESUS ‘

cause HE WILL DO FOR YOU

what you never did for me.

IF ONLY I COULD STAY ASLEEP,

I wouldn’t need to say

WHEN YOU NEED A LAUGH

remember the

THREE CIGARETTES IN AN ASHTRAY

and understand why

I CRIED ALL THE WAY THE ALTER

and I ALMOST CALLED YOUR NAME.

IF YOU MISS HEAVEN

all I can say is

MAY GOD BLESS AMERICA AGAIN

and if I COULD SEE THE WORLD

without the ROSES AND THORNS

and the LOOSE TALK of SATAN PLACE

I’d say THAT’S HOW MUCH I LOVE YOU,

WHEN I HEAR MY CHILDREN PRAY.

We went through

A CHURCH, A COURTROOM AND THEN GOODBYE.

Now,

THEY’RE AIN’T NO WHEELS ON THIS SHIP

and you’ll never PICK ME UP ON YOUR WAY DOWN

so I’LL SAIL MY SHIP ALONE.

I DON’T WANTA

ever LET THE TEARDOPS FALL

so when MY DREAMBOAT COMES HOME,

I want you to know

TODAY, TOMORROW AND FOREVER,

THINGS GO BETTER WITH LOVE

BRAVO!!!! I never know Patsy had sooo many songs, lol! Seriously, this is incredible. You managed to weave a heart breaking tale, one that sounds rather familiar to me, from the many songs of a wonderful, talented artist. GREAT JOB and good luck!
