Symphony (For You) ♥

Symphony (For You) ♥

A Poem by Jen Marks
"

This started out as a slow song, but eventually turned out as a Santana-like pop/rock/spanish-style song! :) Enjoy -- it's my favourite out of all that I wrote! <3

"

[VERSE:]

Locked up and bound again

Don't know which way is out

Or how to get in

I'm always saying it

But never meaning it

Just turn around

Turn around again

Don't know how many times

I'll say this again

You call me beautiful

It's all so magical

[PRE-CHORUS:]

And this time

It's true

'Cause it's all for you

Go ahead

Say you swear

And you know I'll be there

[CHORUS:]

'Cause you're the only one I'd find

To get into my state of mind

And you're the only one I'd see

In my dreams

And I am wanting you tonight

We'll stay up 'till the sunlight

And baby, this is your symphony

It's for you...but all for me

[VERSE:]

Imagine the God of love

He's at his highest peak

And rising above

You see him standing tall

Yeah, he's above it all

He's leading the way

Oh, the way of love

He'll tell you that the one

Is always enough

As far as he can see

You are the one for me

[PRE-CHORUS:]

And this time

It's true

'Cause it's all for you

Go ahead

Say you swear

And you know I'll be there

[CHORUS:]

'Cause you're the only one I'd find

To get into my state of mind

And you're the only one I'd see

In my dreams

And I am needing you tonight

We'll stay up 'till the sunlight

And baby, this is your symphony

It's for you...but all for me

[CHORUS:]

'Cause you're the only one I'd find

To get into my state of mind

And you're the only one I'd see

In my dreams

And I am begging you tonight

We'll stay up 'till the sunlight

And baby, this is your symphony

It's for you...

But all for me

kinda sweet if you ask me, and it has care and just a frienship/close vibe for somebody. it's really relaxking and enjoyable reading your words. a good job indeed Jen.

I do not think this is too 'lovey-dovey' at all! I do not mean to counteract E. A. Fielder either. You did a wonderful job with this. And so many of us can relate. (:

As lyrics, they're not bad, although without having heard the song it's hard to be certain. I think what the Rt.Honourable Fielder was getting at is that it's easier to seem profound in song than it is on paper. Which is borne out to be true just be reading most song lyrics without having heard the music first.

I would say this one is not my cup of tea. I like love poetry but I feel this is a bit too lovey dovey for me. The title made me think of a line by Justin Timberlake: "If I wrote you a symphony just to say how much you mean to me. what would you do?"
