fever dream (true story).

fever dream (true story).

A Poem by jenniewren (J.W. Bouwman)

in the swirling confusion
of overheated body
i began to melt

coalescing

down,

melting

melting
into a tiny blue marble
with a cat's eye sparkle
in silver

panicked, i felt myself
disintegrating into

hallucination

i begged for you to hold this marble
(marvel?)
to save this last little bit left of me
knowing my fickle fingers
were far too shaky to do it myself

please
weave your fingers tightly
round my remaining self

its smallness makes it easy to lose..

when we lose ourselves we can lose sight of reality... very interesting poem, especially considering it to be a true story. I am fascinated by your descriptions.

intense - tremendous emotion caught in the swirl of a marble

Don't want to end up fishing it out of the storm sewer....wow, what tour de force of emotion, the point where pleading is no longer pleading but an act of self preservation. Pretty heady stuff....great job Kit.
