Faith is believing in something not seen and you did just that. You placed your life in the hands of a living God and he comforted you and brought you out of the state of mind of imprisonment from your pain and sorrow. At last, you found freedom!

Why do you believe in God instead of yourself?

I think the second line should be" I've been" apart from that it is soul nourishing to have faith in what you believe, a nice write.

they're all washed away
This is a heartfelt description of what God's friendship means in your life. I prefer spiritual writing like this instead of a preachy message about how we should all act a certain way or believe a certain thing. Here, you SHOW instead of tell -- a good way to share a message to lure people to discover how this healing, soothing presence in your life helps you. Personal stories make for the best inspirational writing. (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Pain, I think that's a universal language that we all understand. Sometimes its finding what to do with it that's the hardest part, I think what you did is definitely an option that not too mamanmamany people turn to, glad you did because now we have this to reflect on too.

I am happy that your beliefs helped you deal with your sorrow. That is when I wish I had been able to persevere with mine. Just some minor edits here

All the pain I've been through
They're all washed away

All good wishes

Chris

makes me think of an old song by Ocean..."put your hand in the hand" ....very expressive write...4th line should be "they're" ----but a comforting feeling to this.
