Ancient History

A Poem by Jeff
"

The rise and fall of love.

"

As I once heard,

Rome wasn't built in a day.

Neither was our love.

With great pillars of passion

And coliseums of care,

We built the greatest Wonder of the World!

We would delight ourselves

With sweet ambrosia and nectar

Of the greatest to have lived.

Never would we worry

About ends that never existed...

We were immortal...

But one day,

Rome fell.

This was romantic! I think this said a lot. It made me wish I had someone special to share it with. The structure was great. The words said so much. Very good.
