Sweet ol' Nanny

Sweet ol' Nanny

A Poem by Jesse Hayworth

It's a bitter-sweet day

sad for us, but not for you

as you approach the Pearly Gates

and they let you pass through

Finally in Poppy's arms

you dance in the golden streets

we will remember your charm

as each day retreats

You always made us happy

just hearing your voice

so instead of being sappy

we will try and rejoice

We ask you be with us

and guide us as we travel

remind us not to fuss

as our lives unravel

We'll forever be joyful

holding memories of you

may you rest peaceful

and enjoy your new view
