Please don't

Please don't

A Poem by jesserose99
"

inside my head

"

Please don't mistake my silence

for something negative

I won't act out in violence

Im just inside my head

I step inside sometimes

on a coffee break

from the chitter and chatter

outside that I can't take

So please stop asking me

'whats wrong, you seem so quiet'

or 'you're not ok, I don't buy it'

Im just on my minds front porch

in my rocking chair

looking for my fork to eat

the thought muffin I prepared

This is one of those works that everyone would enjoy reading regardless of their taste in poetry and many would relate to it. It's a wonderful and a very true piece. I really like your choice of words and the way you write too. So, well done and keep on writing.

I liked this poem. We all need to go to that quiet place sometimes. For me, it's a hot, sandy beach in the Philippines. Think I'll go there now. Good work.

This thought muffin has no muffin-top - it is perfectly fitted - the words inhabit the structure like a second skin.

I like the images you use to describe the need to retreat, to take time out from the chitter-chatter.

'I won't act out in violence' reassures the poet - I just need my space.

All of your writings' got that comical edge...that silver humour taint...always short and classy...great choice of style.

thank you again for stopping by, I appreciate your saying so
This is me all the time. I can't count the number of times someone has asked me what was wrong when it was in fact nothing. Sometimes they ask me why I look sad, and I say, "That's just my face." Happens all the time because I suffer from RBF.

I know the feeling, the 'that's just my face' feeling...im not upset I swear people...;)
Yep, I so understand this Jesse. I stopped looking in the mirror before I went out, as just the thought of going out seems to be enough to morph me into resting b***h face mode. (Can guys get resting b***h face? I think so, as some of the biggest b*****s seem to be male)
People see someone being quiet and think the worst, ready for some juicy gossip. It's always a let down that the gossip ain't forthcoming. They always seem to think I am being sarcastic when I say I'm fine, Moi? Sarcastic? Never. While they think I'm being sarcastic, I'll always compliment them too, saying something like nice dress, then walking away, leaving them wondering what's wrong with their dress. Well, they started it :)

I can relate. I just took a 3 day retreat away from everything and body because I just need space sometimes. I can get lost in my thoughts and not hear anything being said around me. It irritated my mom haha She always said, "you never listen to me". I like this poem jesse:) Awesome!

thank you Andrew, i am glad you enjoy the thought muffin too!!
I can relate to one inspiration line "don't take God's patience as His absence, He is always there with you".....I really loved the reality of this poem, as a human being(being able speak) i need silence to keep my mind refreshed....But silence does not mean bad everytime.....Hats off to you frnd.....Another marvellous one Jesse......
