The Trial.

The Trial.

A Poem by Lady Lazarus.

An avoidance of body
a catatonic rush
a crystal clear infusion
the fire of the touch

memories hang so heavy
a tread of skin on dew
it was quiet infatuation
I lived my lie for you

approaching the epilogue
a stilt of lisped rhymes
"like a dog!" on trial
pray in dust for time

my time is never mine
the eyes do well deceive
many scars are fading
I cry and watch the leaves
in my eyes reflected
the red and green and blue
our sky and clouds are clearing
my fears are coming true

This is,again, a wonderful piece

''memories hang so heavy
a tread of skin on dew
it was quiet infatuation
I lived my lie for you''

My favourite Stanza, as I find it easy to relate to...The line ''my fears are coming true'' at the End,almost brings a sense of suspense, like a cliffhanger...Wonderfully, if slightly frightening piece. Well done, very natural beat to it as well, reminded me of the last rains, when the air is heavy and the sky darkened by the clouds. Slight drizzle running on to the road, reminded me of that. Well done! Xx

Lovely choice of words and images.
Especially the parts of memories hanging heavy,
leaves reflected in weeping eyes and of sky and clouds clearing.
Beautifully written I can relate to the feeling of fears coming true,
of memories hanging heavy and of feeling overwhelmed,
and trapped or put on trial. Truly wonderful!!!

This poem really has gorgeous rhythm. "I lived my lie for you" really gripped me. It was very subtle wordplay that worked in powerful perfection.
I love it, Alex! I wish my words flowed like yours.
