Colours…

By: JB Murray © Jan 2010

All subtlety lost

What once burned amber

Skin warmed, tongues entwined

Licking flames of blue sapphire

Scalded we two

In endless fields

Once running for cover

You stared relentless, eyes dark jade

Immortal you left me

Now nothing is new

The fires of morning

We woke with the thunder

And its there that you bled

All red and burgundies

Such passion renewed

Entwined under starlight

You wrapped me in coils

Legs and arms of dark ivy

Such strength and such poison

One last final cue

Darkness consuming

Until heaven’s light

Of mauve and of welcome

Held me so gently

Now dreaming of you
