By: JB Murray © Jan 2010

My god it’s dark

The sun has slept for days now it seems

And I sit in this chair

Parked just inside the door

To weak to stand

To used up to pretend

The softest of wind blows through the open door

Almost too warm

It will knead at my face

And for a second

For just one second I feel alive

My god its dark…

The sun is still sleeping

And I feel beached

An old used up purpose on this hardwood floor

Once lavish

Now scratched and warping

I keep hearing a noise

It keeps coming in splinters

In a rush so sudden

It’s there and then gone

And I swear that its laughter
