Sending young men with arms off to wars

against countries today evil, your yesterday's w****s.

 

You've numbed them to fight from your ivory tower

not conscious that yours isn't permanent power.

Your Bible's false shield for acts you justify,

 rapin' the sacred with heads held high.

 

Prayin' with fervor, condemnin' all others,

not thinkin' that "they" are all sisters and brothers.

 

Standards are doubled; savin' your wombs.

Other women and children you put in their tombs.

 

Lift the veil to really see who's your Teacher and who's really free.

 

Call all others evil and send our off to die,

duping the heartland with lie after lie.

 

Division's the game to put your ahead,

keepin' them in their places, no jobs and unfed.

 

So cultural difference you escalated to hate

by ramrodding "freedom" - using our boys as bait.

 

Yeah, Jesus IS watching, he's watching you pray.

He's watching hypocrisy day after day.

 

Lift the veil to really see who's your Teacher and who's really free.

 

So keep their eyes blinded - falsity's veils,

while your brand of freedom kills and prevails.

 

Now more than ever, hate and chaos abound.

Smooth words slip like serpents - in acts where is Lord found?

 

You gotta be Livin' the Spirit, Livin' the Word,

standing for justice, what's right and be heard.

 

Cuz' Jesus is watching, He's watching it all,

feeling our hearts while watching us crawl

at the hands of the demons and the words of the liars

promoting their destruction to rebuild our desires.

 

So say your prayers now while you're prayin' is heard.

Feel the sould of the other and your blood in your word.

This was AMAZING. I would absolutely love to hear this read outloud, I imagine it's even more powerful than when reading (which is saying a lot!) I loved reading this. You could sense the anger and emotion within the piece, and the pure frustration at the way things are in our society today. I loved the lines "You've numbed them to fight from your ivory tower / not conscious that yours isn't permanent power." and also "Yeah, Jesus IS watching, he's watching you pray. / He's watching hypocrisy day after day."
