Hates those. :)
yes, you write the spirit of haiku...good haiku rings with originality in every word, every phrase...to say that the rain "pounds" is not quite clever, but it's the "sheets" that are all wet...

Wow, this is beautifully written, Jeff! You even made 'soggy trails' sound like a beautiful wonder :)
These three lines made me experience the rain with its refreshing qualities and its ability to create life. Now and again I get this wonderful feeling when it is raining on a warm summer day, but for the most part the rain is a nuisance when busy minding our own little world of scheduled lives.

Thanks for sharing :)

Beautiful. I can visualize it.... the rain falling, dripping from the leaves. Its the same thing I see from the window of my room every time it rains.
Loved it :)

who can match the economy "life's tears recycled" ... and who knows for sure how long we have cried .. i grew up in upstate NY with the Adirondack Mountains just around the corner ... these days i make forays into the Ozarks of Arkansas from time to time .. but all of them are connected eh!? ... what a fine haiku! i am sitting here hearing the drip of rain through the trees and splashing me .. the forest gets so still in a gentle rain
