To My Sun

To My Sun

A Poem by aacpuente

To My Sun

To my Sun

          And I the Moon;

I could be seen through your shine, so bright

Without you, I’d be dim light.

Tho, you are the center

Shall never be my center

The planets revolve around you

Making wonderful, colorful hue.

Thousands of miles stitched side-by-side

The only wish is to see you tonight

That your face shall no longer hide

From a bright, even blinding light.

We portray a different role

In this earthly life we belong

From my palm to your sole

May you hear this unfinished song.

Doubt not the fact

We’d see each other soon

May God grant me a thousand luck

That the Sun shall collide with the Moon.

On the first stanza, the song Sun and Moon from Miss Saigon immediately came to mind.... Just like the song, this piece spoke to me about longing, loving from a distance and of hope. The rhyme scheme you employed gave this piece some musicality. well done!
