Floating

By Joe Wade

Floating on a smile for this hour;

Lifted up by sweet lips touched,

Lost to greater things of power,

This is meandering moonlit night streets lightened.

Golden brushes with her candlelit hair,

Add to tiny flames of dancing on shadowed skin soft.

Emerald eyes throw the light’s fire. Sparkling night’s fare

Brings the walk of lover’s lonely city back streets where all plans are lost.

Soft. Her voice fills heaven’s sleeping, winking night sky.

Words whispered in the pass of our secret,

Heard in listless steps of sweeping feet and one deepened sigh,

Sliding down walls, and alleys that repeat it.

Back to bed with angel imprint fading,

It’s cold when a nightmare’s only dreaming.

i could not find a way to throw an accent mark over ed in touched on the second line. It's a Shakespear thing, and it would make the rhymes better

I love hearing my name in poems and songs. Makes me feel like it was written for me. I know it wasn't though. This is a really nice poem, seems I am running into a lot of peaceful made-for-love kind of poems. Yesterday it was all gore today it is all love, Odd, but I like it.
