A Poem by Wyrn Tiger

A knife’s silvery flash. Skin slash, crimson flash, body crash. Decisions too rash, A judgement too brash, ended with a deadly flash and blood splash, all that's left is death and ash. Its real and happening every day. People don't see the sun rays through the blackout curtains. Is this the hazardous world we live in? Everyday Corroding, close to exploding, rich gloating, we are floating on a broken raft in a sea of political sharks, taxpayer jellyfish and society's piranhas. The sharks bite, the taxes sting and the piranhas eat everything  you are or will become leaving grief, misery and finally suicide.

I liked the fast pace and intensity of the beginning and the reflective and slowing down later.
I feel that part of the human condition is to search for meaning (which I felt that I thought the subject in this poem was looking for. In American society this particularly means "success" (at least from my experience). The frustrating part of this is success can mean a lot of thing to different people. It's a difficult balance find meaning in yourself, and finding meaning from society. I feel that its important to have good support system in life, but that also success takes time. This is something as a 20 something year old I am still learning.
Thanks for sharing.
