Regrets of The Elder

Regrets of The Elder

A Poem by John P.

Regrets of the elder

The life that I dream of

Its fading every day

My spirit is sinking

My body's turning frail

I want to cross the oceans

I want to leap through fields

I want to climb all mountains

As far as eyes can see

If only I could go there

To the land beyond the hills

Searching for adventure

Scavenging for thrills

But the years have passed so very fast

The end is near for me

But I wish that I could see the things I never got to see

Listen good my children

Go forth and take a stand

Explore all that you need to see

Before you're a dying man

The curtains are now dropping

Now its all too late

Live the life you dream of

Dont share your fathers fate
