The pain that you felt

My first poem. It explores what we do to help those who are struggling.

Was it something I said?
Was it something I did?
The pain that you felt
The feelings you hid,

Was there something I could do?
A text or a call?
The pain that you felt
When you walked down that hall,

Why did we do nothing?
Why did we stand by?
The pain that you felt
When nobody said hi,

We loved you so dearly
And yet you still cried
Because we failed you completely
Till the night that you died
