Time

Time

A Poem by Jonathan Bryant Dean

As Time goes by we know, we’ve less left know than when we first begun.
Time goes so slowly when we are young, but now it flies away.

As time goes by we learn, best years of our life are the ones to come.
As children we are so immortal, the facts of life didn’t get in the way.

So now that we have aged, let us still retain a touch of immortality,
With what have learned, imagine what dreams we can attain today,

Remember today as you go, for if time flies now at our middle age,
Time still will seem so slow, as it flies away, it will still fly away.

Indeed...Time flies away

Posted 11 Years Ago

It's a poem about remembrance, about marking the passing of time, as it passes. The wise and practical poet suggests an attitude to loss while acknowledging that nothing can be done about it.

Being of middle age, i find this to be so true. It would be futile for me to sit and pine away for days of my youth when the days were endless and tomorrow seemed so far away. But when i look back on all that time behind me, i realize i am having the time of my life now, and as time does fly by it does seem to have slowed down. great writing and well detailed observations...

I'm still in highschool but it seems quite true about time passing quickly as you grow older. When i first read this pem the style caught me at times and I reread some lines. It gives this piece a unique style! I like it very much! :)

This poem is so very true. We need to make the most of our time on this earth. I love the song with this one. Thanks Jonboy!

It seems yesterday was Christmas, Sunday will be Easter. A little over three months to a mortal. A lifetime to the Christ. Time is relative is it not.
