Concocting

Concocting

A Poem by Ramza

Toss me a simple simile
A few savory words
A colorful outlook on life
Are you using that metaphor?

A symbol for those analytical types
Pepper with insignificant details
Remember to laud nature
Insert cliche here

A rhyme scheme perhaps?
How about meter?
No, I'm in a hurry
Attempting to possess emotion and depth

I need a theme
Something universal
Truth is hot these days
Allow me to blind you with truth

Now some mystical, mysterious, beautiful finishing thought
Yes! That's it! A sticky note on your brain.

Anything really, but in my poetry I prefer to ignore commas, capitalization and such. But if any part is confusing let me know!!

Hi Ramza,

We haven't talked or mutually reviewed in a while, so I thought I'd stop by.

No, this is not confusing, and it's clever, but this is so painfully the antithesis of writing a poem. There is no nod to inspiration, only acknowledgement of bits and pieces of the craft coming together without theme or order. This is not how poetry is done. Indeed, a poem should not be "concocted". I suspect this is your point, however, and the hollowness shows through. This poem literally gives me the shivers in its emptiness.

Best regards,

Rick

None of this piece is confusing~

I really enjoyed it. I like the light tone it follows as the piece goes on, it's very witty. I hope to see you post more poetry, you're good at it ;)
