The Human Affect

The Human Affect

A Poem by Josh Harbst

The Human Affect

We see different

We see reaction

We see affliction

Why must we destroy what's different

We take our fingers and point to the faces of the man who walks on the other side.

Then we mold him.

Make him as we want.

But is what we want good?

The heart the individual is absolute.

Absolute to be.

Made crafted and built

Why must we take God to be under our side?

Under our rule we infect our reaction on those faces who reside alone.

We find evil in everyone else but why can't we see the evil within us.

It takes one person

One challenge

And one fear

Or fright

To see something different

To see an answer

A solution

Every moment every second

Our reactions are all connected

One moves made and everything trickles down.
