Mysterious Lady

Mysterious Lady

A Poem by Ryan Loftis
"

A man becomes smitten with a woman to which he meets at a town gathering. He is suprised when she notices him and ignores everyone else in order to walk to him.

"
Previous Version
This is a previous version of Mysterious Lady.

I glared as a lady flew on a bird

Of which kind I had never heard

All the town's people gathered in awe

It flew with such grace, I couldn't withdraw

As the bird landed on the ground,

People gathered from all around

Every person from the town was there

To watch the flow of the lady's hair

To watch her teeth sparkle so bright

To watch her face emit so much light

To watch her eyes gleam so yellow

To hear her voice, like a siren's soft bellow

Among the large crowd, she strode right to me

Her face lit up with utter glee

"Is it you, my long lost brother?

The one who gost lost after the death of my mother?"

"I am Julian, your very own kin

The one who'd gotten lost, but can't recall when

The one who was lost for many a night

In which it has caused me so much fright"

Harder and harder the wind had blown,

The easier it was for the truth to be known

Even as much as I had missed her,

Mistakenly, the one I had loved was my very own sister

A beautiful story. Brought us in with a description of a beauty and a woman. Held us with strong and powerful words. Ending was a surprise. Last lines I like a lot.
