A Poem by joshua deathdealer
"

"
these words only cover the slits in my skin
holding me together all the while ripping me apart

flowing uncontrollably out of what remains

the lives left wrecked are a dark reminder
that I am unholy, fallen far from divinity

no matter the leaps, disregarding the bounds

I am perpetually brought to my knees in tears
shattered down to drink truth from the Grail

to look into the very eyes of the Universe

to see the Garden given over to utter bleakness
as this ballad of life is lead to its requiem of death

ushered to understand how truly appalling I've become

Joshua, wow you take my breath away. One of the highest compliments you can give a writer is I relate, I can feel each word. I think from these words your life is as upside down as mine. Unless you write fictionally but I don't think you do. I think you write from your heart as I do. But I get this.... Maybe too much

I know this feeling all too well, and all I know to do is write my way through it. I hope that you can find the light one day. Believe it or not, there is one somewhere.

This is how I feel about the human spirit overall. Despite the good we do, it really is all for not.

wow this is almost like jesus in the garden of gethsemane...asking "why me? has god forsaken me?"

well, poets verge often on that cliff of despair...and then have to try to write their way out of it...

self-deprication here at its best.

very strong imagery.

Such a strong beginning dear, as all is a theory of relativation... it seems. I felt the full moon in this one, you as well the character, on both knees, desperately brutal, as brilliant asking for some light, Some songs of life, are so sad, love, there is only death in their notes as breath, and I think that bullet you spoke of lately could fit here too... there is nothing so standard about this one, rather impressively artistic :D.... ;) ssssscrew the....you know who :D

~ that is really a powerful statement. In this piece Life in darkness comes with great truth. To understand everything in balance, you must have jump off both sides. But if you've start in the path to darkness, coming out is a hard task. This is really beatifully dark. I truly enjoyed reading such deep connection and its profoundness... Nice work!

Sometimes the shadows of the soul seem to block out all light, and we struggle to find our way in the dark. The image that you chose is a haunting reflection of your words, and I can feel the weight of oppression that pushes you down in the beautiful, deep-dark.
