understand

this is something I hope everyone likes

I've heard people say
that because of a certain characteristic
I won't understand things their way

just because I'm not an adult
doesn't mean I don't understand love
the age of my physical isn't my fault

just because I'm a guy
doesn't mean I'm less sympathetic
some people think otherwise, I wonder why

just because I don't have the same view
doesn't mean I don't understand your beliefs
I don't have to be exactly like you

just because I don't look the same
doesn't mean my life's any different
nor does it make me any more lame

just because I have a different interest
doesn't mean I'm no fun
there is no good, better, or best

just because I grew up in a different place
doesn't mean I'm less skilled
we all have our own pace

there is something you need to understand
just because I'm different doesn't mean I don't understand
and with this writing I will take a stand
