Summer haiku

Summer haiku

A Poem by Joshua Cialis
"

This is a selection of haiku written from my window overlooking the lane on which I live...

"
Lonely bluebells
Dance
In the breeze

Morning blues from up at my window.

Birds flirt in the
shadows -
Moving out of the sun

This is a 'western Haiku' so follows the rules set out by Jack Kerouac:
"I propose that the 'Western Haiku' simply say a lot in three short lines in any Western language. Above all, a Haiku must be very simple and free of all poetic trickery and make a little picture . . ."

This is so beautiful. It has so few words but it paints such a perfect picture which captures everything. I can imagine it all in my mind, and it's amazing that you could get so much across in such little space.
