TakenA Poem by Josie E. Cook M. A.When life becomes something unplanned...Taken
Details fill my world Sometimes too much, Becoming a clutter of minutes That cause confusion And annoyance, Other times, They are a welcome distraction.
Finding out about your affair Was a total surprise Nothing seemed that out of place Or wrong, No hint of anything amiss enough To cause this deception.
Our marriage seemed like we were Settled into each other, So peaceful and caring most of the time, We were infatuated still with each other At many timeless and enduring moments, In harmony with our domestic lives, We made love often and missed each other When one was not around, Nothing dwindled between us Our connection remained strong and loving.
Until that final blow, that took me by surprise. "J. E. Cook
