Chapter 100

Chapter 100

A Chapter by Jemma Packman

Summer, Indigo, Sabrina, Gaz, Priscilla, Iona and Henrietta sat around the table. Indigo checks her phone. Summer says “Everything ok?”

            Indigo says “Yeah. Why?”

“You keep checking your phone. Are you expecting a call or something?”

“No, not really. I invited Yeardleigh and Moxie, but I guess they changed their minds.”

Summer kisses Indigo. “Don’t worry, Cheesecake. The people most important to me are here. And Iona and Priscilla.”

            Iona says “I heard that.”

            “Wasn’t whispering.”

            Priscilla says “I’m important.”

Gaz says “You are to me, babe.”

Priscilla pretends to cry. “Summer, why do you hate me?”

Ethan runs to Priscilla, climbs on her lap, hugs her, kisses her cheek and says “Don’t cry, Cilla. Was Uncle Gaz mean to you? Do you want me to hit him for you?”

Gaz says “Hey, it wasn’t me. It was your mom.”

Ethan looks at Summer. “Mommy, you shouldn’t make girls cry. Say you’re sorry.”

            Summer says “She’s faking.”

            “Grams?”

            Sabrina says “Ethan’s right. Apologise.”

Summer says “You’re shitting me?” Sabrina raises an eyebrow and smirks. “Fine. Priscilla, I’m sorry I upset. I don’t hate you. Forgive me?”

Priscilla says “Only if you give me a proper kiss.”

            “Seriously?”

Priscilla nods. Ethan says “You can’t say no to kisses on your birthday, Mommy.”

“I thought we agreed not to mention that?”

“Momma said if you were good, and you played the bad game, used bad words and made Cilla cry.”

Indigo says “He’s got a point.”

            Summer says “Indigo!”

Priscilla passes Ethan to Gaz, goes and sits on Summer’s lap, puts her arms around Summer’s neck, and says “Pucker up, Princess.”

Priscilla kisses Summer. Moxie and Yeardleigh walk towards them. Moxie says “Indigo, what kind of party is this?”

Indigo says “Hey, guys, you made it. Come sit down. Don’t mind them.”

Iona stands up and says “I’ll get some more chairs.”

Henrietta says “Don’t be silly, Iona. I’ll get them. Sit down.” Iona sits down. Henrietta stands up, walks past Priscilla and Summer, puts her hand on Priscilla’s shoulder. “I think she’s earned enough forgiveness.”

Henrietta walks into the house. Priscilla pulls away from Summer and says “So, what’s the rule on accepting sex on your birthday?”

            Indigo says “Girlfriend only.”

            Gaz says “Boyfriend worried.”

Priscilla says “Don’t be. I was kidding.” Priscilla gets off Summer. “Seat there, ladies.”

Priscilla sits next to Gaz. Moxie says “No thanks. Been there, been done by her.”

            “Amazing?”

            “Pretty much.”

            “Lucky b***h.”

            Yeardleigh says “Happy birthday, Summer.”

Summer says “Thank you. There’s a seat next to Iona.”

Yeardleigh nods and sits down. Ethan says “Grams, are we having cake now?”

Sabrina says “Not yet, but we should go see if Nanna and Grampy need any help.”

            “Can I find Lexi?”

            “Sure. Come on.”

Ethan and Sabrina go into the house. Moxie says “He’s cute.”

            Priscilla says “He’s Summer’s.”

“You can tell. So, what did we miss.”

Iona says “You walking in on the live sex show, so I guess you only missed the stripping.”

            Yeardleigh says “Stripping?”

Priscilla says “I got to undress Summer.”

Indigo says “My sister was checking for injuries. Don’t ask.”

Summer says “You’d think it was Priscilla’s birthday.”

Priscilla says “You can unwrap me any time you want, Princess.”

“I’ll leave that to Gaz. Thanks.”

            Gaz says “So generous.”

Moxie says “So, you two are together?” Moxie points at Priscilla and Gaz. “And no-one minds the kissing thing?”

            Indigo says “It’s complicated.”

            Gaz says “Who are you?”

Moxie says “I’m Moxie, Yeardleigh’s friend.”

            Indigo says “And bodyguard,”

“If needed. The kissing thing, why was that happening?”

“Summer can’t refuse a kiss on her birthday, and Priscilla took advantage of that.”

“Why? Is it like a Godfather thing?”

Summer says “Sort of. It’s something my mother came up with.”

Yeardleigh says “Moxie, stop it. Why does it matter?”

            “I was curious.”

“Sorry about her. Sometimes she doesn’t think before she speaks.”

“Hey, I can speak for myself.”

            “Everyone heard already.”

Summer says “It’s ok, I get it. It sounds weird but I don’t want to talk about it.”

Moxie says “Can I give you a kiss?”

            Priscilla says “No.”

Summer says “I can’t refuse, remember?”

“But she’s had sex with you.”

Moxie says “She had me. Are you always this whiney?”

            Iona says “Recently, yes.”

Priscilla flips Iona off and says “Talk to your girlfriend.”

Gaz says “Sums, I won’t try and kiss you. Don’t want you flipping out.”

Indigo says “There’s an exception to every rule.”

Moxie kisses Summer quickly, and says “Happy birthday.”

Yeardleigh says “Moxie, what are you doing?”

“What did it look like? Birthday kiss.”

“You’ve never done that for me.”

Priscilla says “Don’t sweat it. That wasn’t much of a kiss.”

Moxie says “I’m not trying to sleep with her.”

            “That’s because you already have.”

            “Yes I have.”

“No need to brag. Am I the only one that hasn’t slept with her?”

Summer says “No. Other than Indigo, there was only Iona and Moxie.”

Moxie says “I offered you Yeardleigh.”

            Iona says “What?”

Yeardleigh says “May I use the bathroom?”

Gaz says “I’ll show you where it is. This sounds like girl talk.”

Gaz stands up and walks towards the house. Yeardleigh follows. Iona says “Explain, please?”

Moxie says “It doesn’t matter. Summer said no, and Yeardleigh chewed me out because of it. It was before she met you, so it’s really none of your business.”

“You tried to pimp her out. What kind of friend are you?”

“One that will do anything to see my friend happy. Where do you get off judging me? You haven’t bothered contacting Yeardleigh since you asked for her number.”

“I wasn’t sure she wanted me to.”

“She gave you her number, that was a hint. The only reason we came here was because she knew you were going to be here. She’s not Summer’s biggest fan.”

Priscilla says “Don’t you feel loved?”

            Summer says “Little bit.”

Moxie says “Look, Summer, we don’t know each other, but you seem like a good person who I would like to get to know.”

Indigo says “Take a seat, Moxie.”

Moxie sits next to Priscilla. “Does she hit on you too?”

Priscilla laughs and says “I like this one. Can we swap Iona for her?”

            Iona says “B***h.”

“I’m not the one messing someone around.”

            “It’s not like that.”

Moxie says “It best not be.”

Indigo says “Iona, why don’t you go talk to Yeardleigh.”

Iona nods, stands up and walks into the house. “If she hurts her…”

“You’ll be very angry, but will do nothing but console Yeardleigh.”

Summer says “Indi, are you her lawyer?”

Indigo nods. Priscilla says “Not mine. I can say if Iona hurts your friend, I will help you take her down.”

Moxie says “Isn’t she your friend?”

“Yeah, but I never get to mess with her.”

Indigo says “Don’t you mess with me and Summer enough?”

Priscilla says “Not in the way I want to.” Moxie laughs. Priscilla turns to Moxie. “Do you wish me to teach you my ways?”

            Moxie says “Definitely.”

Summer says “Oh my God. We’ve created an unholy alliance.”

“When did you two get married?”

Priscilla says “And where was my invite?”

Indigo says “What have we done?”
