Tap on the roof

Tap on the roof

A Poem by Jon Roggie

These are words of persistence.
  I should be honest.
     It is being stubborn.

While trying to sleep,
maybe later than it should be required,
  I hear a knocking.

It is not on the door,
and I managed not to roll onto the floor.

Dozing once again,
 the knocking repeats.

Sorry,
 I can't rhyme like Poe.

Scrubjay trying to crack a treat.

Waking me in the process,
  while finding the walnut's meat.

Tap on the roof probably disturbed your sleep, but made you produce a very lovely poem!
