If I could visit the homes of my family

If I could visit the homes of my family

A Poem by Jon Roggie

Before anyone starts to think the worst.
I am not estranged from my immediate family.
Other than the normal quarrels,
 we manage fairly well.

I need to work on my titles.

Back to my ramble.

My mother dragged me into the entire genealogy thing.

My DNA has been added to a large database.
I seem to be in the clear.
There have been no loud knocks on the door.

Anyway,
I was going to make a point.

Took me a moment.

My family moved.

So far,
  from what I can tell,
    we have covered the world.

In a widespread way,
this makes all of you my family.

We may not speak our thoughts the same,
  but we are related.

Different today,
and yet we started the same.

So,
I seem to have a dream.

I dream of a world of families.
One where we can just stop by for a moment.
Talk.
  Visit.
Be the family the world deserves.
