Mother

 The best smell I have ever known.

I remember now how it made me feel.

  Feeling safe in that place I laid.

My worries were so small.

  Now I know it is still here with me.

Why did I forget so long?

  Can I go back? I know I can't.

But my heart is still right there.

This is a sweet piece of writing. Scents can evoke such amazing memories for us. So true to say that when people are gone from our lives, we may not remember all they did but we do remember how they made us feel. Nice thought-provoking write!
