B***s

B***s

A Poem by Julia Ledo
"

So this is a slam poem based off of the slam poem "Thighs" by Desiree Dellagiacomo if you haven't heard it I strongly recommend looking it up on youtube. It's about, you guessed it, b***s.

"
My b***s say C-cup
in the 7th Grade
My b***s say mountainous
My b***s say they bring all the boys to the yard
My b***s say get out of my damn yard
My b***s say what are you doing..... you stomach sleeper?? Don't do that
say what are you doing trying to run up the stairs? Not happening
My b***s say YES.... that was indeed a speed bump
My b***s say seat belt you were not made for me
My b***s say red lines ... everywhere
My b***s say I would rather get in a car crash than put on this seat belt
say stop short on purpose one more time and I'll hit you
They say Yes! Patterned underwire braaaaasss!!!!!
my b***s say what the f**k does a DD cup need padding for?!
My b***s hope YOUR b***s are sitting in a Very Lovely Patterned Padded BRA!
My b***s say thank you... camisole with a built in bra... I didn't need you anyways
My b***s say fits your stomach, fits your shoulders, extra room at the sides... 1 button open
My b***s say next size up honey
next size up honey,
next size up honey
My b***s say f**k it.
My b***s say storage compartment, say wallet, say crumb catcher
My b***s say table? or b**b shelf?
say bumpy bus ride? or medieval torture chamber?
My b***s, and my friend's b***s, want to scream at strapless dresses "WHO THE HELL THOUGHT YOU WERE A GOOD IDEA?!"
My b***s say b**b tape.
My b***s say I would gladly share with you my needy sisters
but you really don't want this
My b***s say I'm sorry you've been compared to a 2x4
My b***s think your b***s should build a house with that 2x4 and not let any men in
My b***s say sorry you're b***s aren't good enough,
mine aren't either apparently
My b***s say b**b sweat... in 60 degrees Fahrenheit
My b***s ask why can't I take off my shirt too?
say why are my n*****s illegal?
My b***s ask am I making you uncomfortable yet?
My b***s say I can make a turtleneck look sexy... sometimes
My b***s say cleavage only when it's inconvenient
say why are you threatening me with demerits?
say send me to the principal so I can tell everyone off for policing my body
My b***s say extra wide straps please
My b***s say weight of the world on my shoulders
My b***s say eyes up here
My b***s say eyes off
My b***s say Stop. Staring.
My b***s say there is a person attached
My b***s say don't put me in your wet dreams
You won't see me there either
My b***s say I am not a sex object
I am not here for your entertainment
Not here for You
My b***s say C-Cup
in the 7th grade
My b***s say I've been stared at
touched
slapped
bruised
and squeezed
My b***s say touch me one more time
I dare you.

You already know that I adore this poem and I'm all about feminism and body positivity (F**K YEAH!) I REALLY LOVE how it has humorous parts and serious parts and is altogether really empowering. B***S ARE AWESOME, but they're yours to feel awesome about and everyone should feel awesome about their awesome b***s. ALSO, nobody should be OBJECTIFIED or made to feel comfortable about their body. Like you can feel awesome about your own b***s, but nobody else should feel awesome about them unless they have your permission, ya feel? Really love this piece and really want to see it performed. It'd be mad awesome if you uploaded a video of it here. You can do that. As great as it is in print, it's significantly better when performed. You have a great voice and personality up the wazoo!! Think about it :) Thanks for sharing. :) 100/100

Ugh. I can not ever attempt to explain how much I adore this poem. It's absolutely brilliant from beginning to end. You address all aspects of everything that has to do about b***s. This piece is incredibly empowering (not only for girls with big b***s, but you also address girls with small/none and that's awesome). I love the range of emotion throughout this whole thing (of course, the emotions come out much clearer when YOU speak it, but I can also pull those emotions out by your word choice and tone throughout each line, and there is a definite shift at the end). The organization you brought to this is also clever and perfect. I want to see you perform this in front of a LARGE group of people one day. Thank you so much for writing this. 100/100
