Dawning on MeA Poem by Julia Ledo
You create a new dawn with the sound of your voice
Candy colored skies painted with every word Strewn out clouds with a whisper Sunset begins with your lips Moonrise in your eyes Shooting stars in your kiss But a black hole in your heart That my dawns, my skys, my clouds Can not fill God no matter how hard I try My candy colored skies are not enough The shooting stars just fizzle out My dawns just don't measure up And I find That as you create a new day for me at the sound of your voice I have not made one sun rise for you I pray you find Someone Who pushes a whole galaxy into existence With one exhale of their lungs And you revel in it as much as I did in Your every dawn © 2015 Julia LedoReviews
