She sat

She sat

A Poem by Julie McCarthy (juliespenhere)

She sat
She smelt
She felt
She bent
She wept
She went
She returned
To try
To find
His thumb in hers
It was no longer
He had left
She stayed
She dreamt
Of times
His hand in hers
On that seat
Overlooking ocean
The gulls came
They sat
They remembered him too

Thank you john
This is a time in the future that all of us may go through including me and I dread it

Wow a flowing piece of wordplay that expresses deep loss and regret without saying too much.
