Seat

Seat

A Poem by Julie McCarthy (juliespenhere)

The seat
It had my name on it
I had walked up hilly cliff
The ocean roared below
I sat and my name in paint
Was written there
I sat and mused at gulls below
The wind it came
Nearly blew me off
I sat affixed to chair
What other namesake person
Long ago had painted my name there
I felt at one with sea and sand
And gulls and fish and sun
Had I been drawn to this seat
Or was I just that one

Beautiful. There's no time in eternity. I sometimes wonder how long it has waited for me to find my "seat".
