stale

stale

A Poem by Julie McCarthy (juliespenhere)
"

old can become new again all it takes is tlc and persistance

"
stale bread
its in everyone head
stale cigarettes
id rather be dead
stale dog smells
yes its my dog old smelly fred
stale old shoes
they sure wore out their tread
stale red wine stains
from last nights  party held in vain
stale crackers in the pantry
who let the air in I curtly said
stale cheese gone mouldy blue
not good for hors de vours
itll kill you slowly I aptly said
stale newspaper clippings gone grey
and tardy
in bottom drawer
never again re read
stale photo albums
with red eyes I re live the past
stale tea and coffee stains
on some old coffee cup I find
under someones unmade bed
stale grass clippings from
someones lawn
mowed weeks ago now brown
and all forlorn

stale love
old love
can become new again like
freshly baked smelly bread
stale bread can become toast
again with butter and some
neat new spread

thanks so much girl for your pure review
thanks again!!!

This is perfectly executed: in content, form and phrasing. The final stanza is the real coup de grace and ties it all up in with such a satisfactory note. *bowing like the the storm winded trees outside tonight*
