Mistake

Mistake

A Poem by Julie McCarthy (juliespenhere)
"

Writing as I go

"
A simple
No not simple
In goes my dimple
A drastically simple
Err of judgement
Better left unsaid
My mum would say
But no I said it
You bit your lip
Your eyes
They grew too wide
I tried to taste my spit
Alas my mouth it was too dry
I licked my lips said my piece
Then now no hiding
It’s out there
In the universe
Every angel heard my simple whim
My whisper whinged
It’s out there
Under all of heavens sky
Now I run away no not to gloat
Cos these are tears that fill my eyes

my pleasure
it's ironic how we regret things we say after we say them...and yet, if we don't say them we rue the chance we had to do exactly that.
always that dilemma...hold our piece or let it out.

Yes I agree I rarely speak up or defend or speak out but I always come out looking the worse person
