Tropical island dream

Tropical island dream

A Poem by Julie McCarthy (juliespenhere)
"

Ideal holiday dreams

"
Kaftans of woven silky
Blue and pink ice
With a tinge of black
And shiny gold or
Silver threads sewn
In neatly there

Women with hair
So silky long lying down their
Straight yoga like backs
Yes any colour there
In some bikini or cheesey hippy cloth

Men of any race or colour
Muscles oiled and tanned
With surfboards on white foam
Riding in the cloudless sky
Like jet boats from our youth

Old retired couples sipping on
Some beer or fancy blue
ice cool drink around some pool
Take selfies to show their
Family and friends
Back home
That they are really here

Palms that sway into the nights
With tropical storms at hand
Lovers lie in cabins nude
Just listening to some band or blues

Tropical island here we come
Leaving life as we know it goodbye
I want to visit you one day
And never leave
Your sun so warm and high

Let me bathe in sweet salty sea
And feel your coral beckon me
Sea urchins lying in every rock and cranny
And deep blue sea
For miles I see
On your windswept cliffs
I sit
just me
