Bird

Bird

A Poem by Julie McCarthy (juliespenhere)

Every day
He waits
For Sam
Our dog
To come out
Bird flies sits on roof
Of pergola
Head comes down
Looks upside down
At Sam and me
So cute
He wants to play
With Sam
Sam and the bird
True love
They look up at each other
Feathers rustle
Tail it wags
If only this bird could bark
And if only Sam could fly
Two spirits
Trapped in their bodies
Which one is wrong
Neither as we are all the
Same
Just different bodies
One spirit
One life
All different forms
All need air love and food
All need protection shelter and
Warmth
One spirit all joined
Different forms
Different bodies
One love
One life
One
